      Lead Engineer Interview

      4 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at QA

      Interview

I have never left feedback before, but I really wanted to express my thoughts on this interview process. I have never had such a long interview process. 9 interviews and two elaborate tasks.  After many hours spent interviewing and preparing the tasks, I received a binary decision with no feedback provided. During the interviews, I was commented on my age and asked about family status which I consider extremely inappropriate. Many interviewers repeated the same questions and it was hard to grasp the purpose of the specific interview. I recommend HR to closely reevaluate the interview process: phone, tech, task, cultural. The interview is as much company looking for a candidate as a candidate looking for a company.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review on your experience interviewing with us. We value all feedback and are continuously trying to improve our processes for us and our candidates. We're sorry you felt our process was lengthy. We do have a very tough and thorough interview process for all of our positions as we take hiring very seriously, as well as maintaining our great company culture. Unfortunately, that means that we often have to pass on candidates who are quite strong in many areas, and in this case we're sorry that that was the case with your candidacy and that it did not end in your favor. The interview process for the Lead Engineer involves 5 steps, meeting a total of 7 people. We have not had any candidates thus far have more than that. The process is designed so that we can get to know you and so that you can get to know us as we do agree that we're being interviewed by candidates just as much as we are interviewing them! We uphold very strict interview guidelines that involve never ever asking a candidate about his/her personal life to include age, marital and family status, etc. I apologize if a comment was made about your family status and we are investigating that right now to ensure it does not happen again. Finally, we are always happy to provide feedback to candidates we close out should they inquire. If you would like more specific feedback on why you were not selected for a position with us please feel free to reach out to your recruiter and he/she will be more than happy to provide it. Thanks and best of luck to you in your job search and next endeavor.
