I recently went through the interview process at Publitas, and I wanted to share a bit about my experience. It started off well — I had an introductory call with someone from HR that was smooth and pleasant. They were clear about the role and process, and I appreciated the friendly communication. After that, I was given a take-home technical assignment to build a carousel using canvas. I completed it in about 3–4 hours and sent it over. Then came a technical interview where I was expecting to talk more broadly about my experience, technologies I’ve worked with, and maybe even some system design or real-world challenges. But instead, the conversation was entirely focused on my solution to the assignment. The interviewer didn’t ask me anything beyond that — not even about my background or how I approach problems in general — which felt a bit narrow for a hiring process. A few days later, I was told that I had passed the technical round, but they needed to wait for other candidates to finish their assessments before moving forward with next steps. I waited patiently for over two weeks without hearing anything. Eventually, I followed up to ask for an update, only to be told that they had already hired someone else. This is very unprofessional considering the time and effort I had put into their process. It left a bad impression after what started off as a positive experience.
