I initially had a very positive experience with the IS hiring manager. Within a few hours of applying, I received a questionnaire to complete. The next day, I got a call from the hiring manager to schedule an initial interview which took place a few days later. The one on one interview went very well, it was conversational and allowed me to represent myself well while also addressing the needs of the role. Before ending the call, I was told I did great and that he wanted me for a final interview. That was scheduled for a week later and took place. I interview with other team members and had a very positive experience. A few days later, I sent a thank you email to the manager and he let me know I would hear the following Monday, about 5 days after my second interview. That Monday, I received an email informing me that other interviews had to be rescheduled and I would hear from him in a day or two. Two days passed, no follow-up. I waited until that Friday, which was two days after I was told I would know one way or another, to follow up. It's been a week since I followed up and still no response. There was great communication throughout the entire process but to be ghosted by a hiring manager without the courtesy of an email was incredibly rude and a waste of time. I was told I was one of three candidates so it's not like there were too many interviewees to respond to. Update: About two weeks after posting this I received a canned email response that they had gone with a different candidate. All in all, still disappointing given the initial upfront communication and interest from the hiring manager, only to receive an incredibly impersonal email at the end of it all.
