After submitting an online application, I received 2 emails regarding an online assessment they wanted me to take. One of the emails was an automated one, the other was from an actual person in HR. I took the online assessment and soon thereafter, received an email that a recruiter would be contacting me. The recruiter and I played phone tag a couple of times. When we connected, he interviewed me (over the phone) and had the usual questions ("Where do you see yourself in 5 to 7 years", etc.) He was entering things into the computer as we talked. He asked me to repeat some things so that he could type it in. Before the interview ended, he gave me an opportunity to add anything else I wanted the decision makers to know. He told me he would forward my file on and it would be a few days before I heard anything. A week later, I received an email letting me know they had other applicants that were better suited for the position. I thought they were always respectful and kept me informed during the process, which is sadly, so rare with employers these days. They were wise not to choose me. I would have accepted if they offered the job because I need income, but it really wasn't a good fit.
