This role has been open since December 2025 and, as of today, nearly 7 months later, remains unfilled, suggesting ongoing internal misalignment and a lack of clear direction around what the company is actually looking for.
My first interaction with the recruiter highlighted a clear lack of understanding of the role, combined with communication that was informal, inconsistent, and at times fragmented. Overall, it did not feel like a particularly professional experience.
As the process progressed, deeper structural issues became apparent. The discussion with the hiring manager was heavily centered on local market practices and a very specific regional way of selling, with little openness to broader, more international perspectives. It became clear that the company operates with a deeply ingrained local mindset and a relatively narrow view on go-to-market strategy.
While there appears to be an aspiration to become more international, this ambition does not translate into how the team thinks, operates, or hires. The gap is evident in the interview process, team dynamics, and overall approach to the role.
The environment felt insular and not aligned with candidates who bring diverse, international experience or who are looking to drive broader strategic impact. Compensation was also below Singapore market standards for a role at this level.
