      Senior Front End Developer Interview

      I interviewed at Prescriptive Data

      Interview

They had a casual phone screen and then a take home assignment that was timed for *6 hrs*. Most of the questions were reasonable but the last one was to make the entire snake game from scratch with a lot of rules that are not even part of the original game. I felt this assignment was overkill and not a great way to judge candidates. I was failed because I looked up examples of snake games and added parts that were used in other samples. I didn't think looking up how people approached problems would be reason to fail since this is what developers do every day on stack overflow. I hope this gives other candidates insight into their process.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

Develop the snake game from scratch with specific rules like keeping track of the points, having a reset button, and changing the points color when you reached a new high score.
