I was reached out to by somebody on LinkedIn. That person only had about 5 connections, so I thought it was a fraud account but she had a company email so realised it was legit. Later I was told that I should apply to another job where my experience was more similar. I was arranged a meeting without knowing which position I was interviewing for, nor whom I was meeting with. I found out when I joined the call that I was speaking with the Pontoon Japan lead and hiring manager. What struck me was that the former kept on asking in detail about a career gap on my CV a decade earlier. Just kept on asking so many questions about it. She seemed more interested in that than my actual career. The latter showed up late to the meeting, basically stole my info regarding the industry (as this person, according to LinkedIn, has zero industry experience and joined recently) and dropped me from consideration. Just a total waste of time that I'm never getting back.
