Polinger interview questions

The interview consisted of some basic questions and lasted about 40 minutes. I thought that it was strange that I was asked about really out-of-date information, since I'm a seasoned professional with both a degree and a background in property management. The hiring manager also had a lot of questions about how my former employer did things, and it felt like she was fishing for information that out of propriety, I didn't want to share. This was compounded by some very pushy questions about how I felt about my old employer, along with admonishments to be frank about them. I took this to be an invitation to bash them, which I didn't take up. The hiring manager pressed, and was obviously displeased that I would only answer that I was interested in new opportunities, etc. Towards the end of the interview, I had the chance to ask what the corporate culture is like, and was told that it is a family company, and that management is in close touch with corporate. So close, in fact, that there are meetings between site management, management and corporate at least once per month! My takeaway from this is that the corporate culture lacks real structure, and that management/corporate is rather old-fashioned. I left the interview with a bad taste in my mouth, and decided not to pursue the job. When I emailed the hiring manager, she was . . . less than gracious. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I applied online and they called me after 3 or 4 days for a 1:1 interview. The interviewer was nice and friendly and the interview took about one hour, with typical questions. They called me on the very same day to schedule a second interview and now i am waithing for their desicion. Overall i had very positive experience and on my opinion, this is a good company to work for. The employees I have met are working there for many years, they have good benefits and decent salary and it looks like the company cares about their employees.
