Total Interview Time: Approximately 6 Hours
The interview process included three stages:
Introduction with HR (30–40 Minutes)
Technical Test (4 Hours)
Technical Interview (60–70 Minutes)
Stage 1: Introduction Interview:
I received an email from HR, who was impressed with how my skills matched the role's requirements. The interview lasted over 30 minutes and involved questions about my background and a detailed explanation of the role. The HR representative was pleasant and, after seeing a good fit, invited me to the technical interview.
Stage 2: Technical Test:
The four-hour technical test included multiple-choice and coding questions focused on C#, SQL Server, CSS, and object-oriented design concepts.
Stage 3: Final Interview
The final interview was with a long-standing technical lead. He asked about my background, design, architecture, programming practices, and company operations. The interviewer seemed pleased, and their work aligned well with my experience.
Post-Interview Reflection:
After completing the interview process, I felt confident that I would receive a positive response, as everything had gone smoothly up to the final interview. However, a couple of days later, I received a negative decision with the vague feedback that I should "try to step out of my comfort zone," which made absolutely no sense. The email provided no additional details on how I could improve for future positions at Play'n Go. I sent a follow-up email requesting more detailed feedback but did not receive a response.
