Only got through the pre screen call with the recruiter for the role. I put my minimum salary requirements in the application. When the recruiter called, he started right into telling me the role paid a bit less. Um, why call me then? However the amount in question was pretty close to my figure so I let him know that I’d hate to self-disqualify when we’re already so close. So we continued the conversation but I noticed throughout that he was short with me and seemed to be holding out. Then, towards the end of the call he said he would ‘talk to the hiring manager’ about the salary differential and would let me know in a few days if they could work with my requirements or not. I let him know that was fine with me and then we ended the call. Since I had a funny feeling about that convo, as soon as we hung up I checked the career portal and the status had been updated to, “prescreen completed; not selected.” So basically the recruiter lied and blew smoke the entire time. Well thanks a lot for representing your company in such a dishonest and unprofessional way. I will not consider this company for opportunities in the future since this is how they think it’s okay to treat people. This is straight up amateurish and immature behavior. Next time why not try being honest!

I received an email and then a phone interview rather quickly, and was informed that there would be a follow up. I was very excited about what the recruiter was telling me about the position and the company. There was the indication that someone would get back to me and after a month there has been no response at all from the recruiter despite several assurances from an assistant that my inquiry would be responded to. Like many other candidates that I am reading on this forum, this seems to be a common thread. The lack of communication disappointing as I expected better from a company of this standing. It is a small courtesy to let candidates know the status so they can either move on or prepare for further follow up. There are many rebuttal statements from the company on these complaints assuring that they "regret your experience" and how they have made changes to make sure it does not keep happening. Clearly it is not being enforced as it is still happening.
