      Sales Development Representative Interview

      11 Mar 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at PitchBook (London, England) in Mar 2020

      Interview

Initially got a phone call from HR/recruitment manager saying they recieved my CV. A quick phone interview to get things started everything seemed promising and was told he would get back to me after discussing my application with the relevant managers. Got a call back from the recritument manager later on the same day asking if I could come in tomorrow as they wanted to push things through quickly and the managers liked my cv. I was happy to do this. He explained I would be meeting 2 sales managers. And it was a 2 part interview with the 2nd manager spending roughly 45mins interviewing me and showing me around. This is where it goes all downhill... So I arrive at the offices. 20mins early. I wait in reception, and eventually 10mins after my scheduled appointment I get brought up. The assistant is friendly and welcoming. I'm told to wait for the first manager to attend. As soon as she walks in she has a very negative attitude as if shes not interested in being there. Very unenthusiastic. She goes through the standard procedures explaining the job role, asking questions but in such a fast manner. She even apologises at one point saying 'she had been in meetings all day' ? I mean you were the ones who wanted to schedule me in so early. Least you can do is show some respect? Once she rushes through and finishes, she shakes my hand and says goodbye "ill see you out". At this point I am very confused? I mention I was supposed to see another manager according to what the Recruitment manager told me. She seemed confused then told me to wait as she went to check. 5mins later she turns up saying, that manager is busy, so he can't see me right now, but if I had any other questions I can take her card and call her later. She then saw me out. It seemed promising initially but was very unprofessional when I went into the office. They just seemed uninterested from the get go, and could've at least showed some basic respect during the process.

It’s been super easy, moved quickly and so far so Good! Questions aren’t too tough, they just want to get a sense of your Personality and ability to make a pitch. Work on the pitch a lot- that almost messed me up! Ask a lot of questions when you are pitching- that is what they want to see!
