The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Philz Coffee (Palo Alto, CA) in Feb 2012
Interview
Classic customer service/food and hospitality interview. "What do you consider excellent customer service to be?", "Describe a time you were impressed by customer service." etc.

Question 1
What do you consider to be excellent customer service in a coffeeshop environment?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Philz Coffee (Palo Alto, CA)
Interview
Interview was super chill and gave a clear insight on job expectations. The company culture is great but the customers can be hit-or-miss (as with all food service jobs). The team is also a big plus - you make a lot of great friends and have opportunities to learn more about the business if you want to.
I applied on indeed and got an email a day later. From what I know they don’t use AI either. Recruiters were all super personable and helpful! They make the whole interview process really easy and comfortable. I’ve been able to maintain those connections throughout my time there.
Zoom interview with recruiter. Asking why you're interested in company, experience and availability. Emphasis on working there long term as they want new hires to stay at least 6 months but they want long term employees
