Applied in March, then 10 days later I received an email from the "Talent Acquisition Team" , stating that my resume was very interesting, with a few follow-up questions which they called "Pre-interview" questions. This to me said that they seemed very interested.
I prepared the answers and sent them back (to an individual email, someone who works at Pearson) the next day (March 25). No follow-up at all.
April 15 - I followed up to verify they got my information. NO RESPONSE.
June 15 - Followed up again, NO RESPONSE
June 16 - form e-mail (from company, not an individual) stating that they moved on with other candidates.
I really have no proof that they even got the answers to their questions, which I feel could have helped my chances at getting at least an interview.
This isn't sour grapes on not getting the job, it's more the process. I think it is very unprofessional not to respond to inquiries, only to wait nearly three months to receive a form letter (which contained suggestions that were irrelevant to me.)
This isn't the first time I encountered this with this company, but it will for sure be the last. There were a few other times where I applied and even spoke with management, they expressed interest, then a ball got dropped and I would hear nothing for months until I followed up again and was given excuses. Communication is among the poorest I have seen.
