      Process Development Scientist Interview

      30 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PaxVax (San Diego, CA) in May 2017

      Interview

Phone screening with the hiring manager. She asked basic PD questions and tried to assess my experience, and invited me the next day to visit their site for an interview. That was a very short notice but I accepted it. Once I arrived, I personally observed the chaotic work environment. Both managers seemed very unorganized and unprofessional. I met the other team members and had a chance to learn their experience and daily schedule. The basic courtesy was absent among the coworkers and everyone seemed be overwhelmed and overworked. That is not surprising that the same position has been open for 2 years and they seemed to lack a management skill to even convince a talent to join their team. I am still receiving calls from recruiters for this company, and it is a no.

      Declined offer

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PaxVax (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. Standard technical questions were asked regarding the position. Bioreactors that I've worked on in the past. The next week I was brought in for an interview. 5 groups of people the size of each group varied but it was the entire process development department. They asked technical questions and personality questions. I didn't get a great feeling about the group through this process. Also speaking with HR wasn't a great experience. Personal I would not recommend but maybe I just had a poor experience.
