I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Palantir Technologies (McLean, VA) in Jun 2012
Interview
The interview process is super thorough at Palantir. I was quite surprised how quickly and efficiently it went compared to many of the other companies I had received offers from. It starts with you applying, then a recruiter reaches out within 1-2 days. I got a phone screen from my recruiter but was set up by someone else. To my surprise, the recruiter that called me from DC is a CS person so away we went with technical questions. First time I actually spoke with anyone technical as a recruiter in my life. He was super thorough, asked me a lot of questions about myself, then proceeded with some questions that were tougher than I had seen on other postings here. I got an immediate onsite from him to the DC office. Before my interview on-site, he called me again to run through what my day would be like and we spent an hour talking back and forth. I had a lot of questions and he was extremely patient answering each one. At the McLean office, I was set up for a few interviews, mostly all technical asking me questions about my experiences and CS problems. Lunch and a demo of the product was given as well. I got to sit down with the recruiter afterwards and we spent a good amount of time to understand the role again, all of the companies perks, compensation system, and get a chance to ask any questions again. I was genuinely impressed how smooth this process was and how personable the recruiter was with me. He even remembered my wife's name that I had mentioned on the phone! The office is great, it's a shame that I won't be joining them, I got a call within 2 days from the recruiter that they decided to pass and we talked about other potential roles across the company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain how you would implement a multi-map in Java without using any collections? (telephone screen by recruiter)
Had a chat with HR and then a technical interview with an engineer. They gave some some quite normal leatcode type questions that I had to answer to continue to the next steps.
I interviewed at Palantir Technologies (New York, NY)
Interview
I have so far completed the 20 minute recruiter call, which was an easy behavioral. They asked me what I'm looking for in a job and what I do at my current role.

Quick call with recruiter then technical interview. First call was easy, fit of company etc... Technical interview was leetcode easy and code walk through. Overall, much easier than what I had read online.
