The company has a two step interview process. The first is a general interview where you talk with a HR manager, head teacher and branch manager. Typical questions about experience, motivations for applying. The managers I interviewed with were extremely friendly and th einterview was very relaxed.
The second Interview I was given some english grammar and was asked to prepare how I would explain/teach this to students. This was in front of HR and 3 other branch managers but again quite relaxed and friendly.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pagoda Academy (Seoul) in May 2014
Interview
The interview was less than 20 minutes in person. The questions were basic teaching questions and questions about my preferences for one on one or group classes. It felt quite short and the interviewer was a relaxed guy. I heard he left the company, though. One thing that was not true was that I would get to choose split or block work shifts. Teachers have nearly zero say in their teaching schedules, and it is totally up to the managers to decide schedules unless you really complain or become a manager favorite. This depends on the manager. Some play favorites and others don't. It's basically pure luck whether you will enjoy your schedule or not. Some managers are more conscientious about you having a life outside work than others.
