      Engineer Interview

      28 Nov 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PJM Interconnection

      Interview

3-4 behavioral "describe a situation..." type questions where you're asked to use the STAR principle to respond: Situation Task Action Result. After the HR boiler plate behavioral questions there are some more free-form questions from the panel of 3 managers conducting the interview where they'll ask questions directly related to the job(s). You'll have a chance to ask questions as well. After the 1 hour portion with the managers they will leave the room and 2-6 potential peers for a very informal question where they'll ask you some questions and you get a chance to ask them nearly anything you want about the company or role.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe a situation in which something didn't go as planned. How did you react? What were the results?

      Engineer Interview

      18 Sept 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PJM Interconnection

      Interview

Very straight forward. They don't rate you on technical experience when interviewing as a fresher. They are looking for some one who will fit well in a team environment. the interview process itself is lengthy. you apply, wait for a month, hear back from the HR who schedule an interview 2-3 weeks into the future, you interview (typically 1-2 hours) wait another 2 weeks to hear back. they do not negotiate well about salary. what they offer is pretty much what you will get ( except for those rare candidates they hire)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most of the questions are directed towards past experience. Be prepared to give them examples about how to tackled certain tough situations in the past.
