Both my friend and I interviewed (separately) for the same position and had the same outcome. The interview process was friendly, conversational, and comfortable. At the time, I thought they were asking good questions to gauge the level of expertise for the role, and to see what new ideas the candidate could bring to the table. However, what they were really doing was mining for ideas to take and use, with no intention of hiring a candidate. After three weeks of following up, my friend received a note that the position was "absorbed internally." I was completely ghosted despite going through four rounds of interviews.
They seem to be operating with out-dated marketing tactics. Glad I didn't give them anything too robust.
