I had an informal informational interview with one of the Malaria and Neglected Tropical Disease directors because I was already consulting with them. She then recommended me and I had five interviews for the position (two stages). First it was with an HR woman. She asked me to just describe my previous five jobs to her. She wasn't interested in me going any further back. Then I interviewed back-to-back with the person who would be my direct supervisor and with an employee and a consultant I would be working beneath. My would-be direct supervisor and I really hit it off and just chatted about places we had traveled to. The interviews were only scheduled for 30 minutes each, and each ran overtime. The HR woman was a bit more formal but the second stage was very down-to-earth.
