The interview process was smooth from the recruiter round to the phone interviews to the final on-site interviews. The recruiter was very helpful at every step, talking about the expectations for the upcoming rounds and explaining what they are looking for in a candidate. This was hands down, the best interview experience I have ever had. The questions were not your typical questions but required thinking and had multiple approaches to all the problems. The most important thing for me when interviewing is how interested the interviewers are. I have given interviews where people just straight away dive into the coding questions, not giving any feedback and expecting the perfect answers all the time. Otter is different. They are passionate about what they are building and want someone equally passionate to join their company. They are supportive and encourage good questions during the interviews. As an international student, I didn't accept the offer because I got an offer from a FAANG company and was worried about my Visa. If I already had a work visa or was a citizen, choosing Otter would be a no-brainer. Great product, great people, awesome interview experience! Definitely interview here!

The hiring manager was dismissive, ignored your actual experience, misrepresented your timeline, and after you answered his behavioral questions, abruptly asked, “Did you finish?”
