      BI Analyst Interview

      29 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Optum

      Interview

First, the job description was not accurate. They were asking for a variety of different skills (which I had experience in) but really only cared about one specific specialized/legacy skill. I was also told it was a Junior role, yet they wanted 5 years of experience. It seemed from the very beginning that they wanted someone with a lot of experience and they knew they weren’t going to hire me but they dragged me along and made me go through 4, 1 hour interviews only to tell me at the end of the interviews my skill was there but my experience was lacking. All the interviews I felt went fine, besides one. One of the interviewees was asking me case study type questions but I couldn’t understand a thing this person was saying so I ended up bombing some questions. I haven’t heard a thing from them and it’s been over 2 weeks. Even if it’s a no, the respectable thing to do is let the candidate know you’ve moved on. It was a misleading and weird experience.
