      Marketing/E-commerce Interview

      28 Jul 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Online Labels Group

      Interview

the "short phone call" ran close to an hour and not in a good way. my throat was hurting after being done. pro - i knew after that phone call, i would be wasting my time coming in even if i got an in person interview. cons - this interview was weird. asked personal questions, very in-depth, i guess that can be good/bad depending on who you are. i just felt like the job could've been clarified in a different, more productive way then wasting both his and my time. ceo had a condescending tone when asking questions about college etc. after ending, i didn't care if i ever heard back/never waited. so difficult for a phone call, and i studied the company-

We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our interviewing process. We obviously don't want anybody to feel that way, and we apologize that our process didn't meet your expectations. When we are interviewing candidates (even on pre-interview call), it is our goal to try to understand a candidate's goals, motivations, and personality. By learning about the candidate in these areas, we are better able to establish whether the candidate is going to fit into our company culture and whether we feel she or he is going to be happy and successful in the role. We obviously want every individual who comes to work for us to be happy and feel good about the work he or she is doing. Learning about an individual goals, motivations, and personality can sometimes make for a longer conversation (even on a pre-interview phone call) and the questions we ask can sometimes feel very in-depth. We also know that it is critical that the candidate feels the role is a fit for them and for that reason we are always happy to spend time answering questions about the company or discussing the requirements of the role. Once again - we apologize that you didn't feel good about the interview process.
