I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Okta (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2018
Interview
Phone screen->onsite panel interview with 6 people->offer
They have a really smooth process and do a great job of setting expectations and keeping you informed at every stage. The team was very welcoming and hospitable; I was even offered breaks and refreshments after every interview during the onsite panel.
My interviewers were well-prepared and very friendly. They do a good job of not asking the same questions over and over. Conversations were very natural and informative; I felt like I was able to learn as much about them as they did about me.
The follow-up was very timely and the whole process, start-to-finish was quick. After receiving an offer they make sure you have access to anyone or any info you need to make an informed decision. They also don't put too much pressure on you and trust you to make their own decision.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you think are the most important considerations when building and maintaining relationships with hiring managers?
Pretty straight forward with interviews with recruiter, team, and HM. Asked behavioral questions regarding recruiting for roles and partnering with HMs during the recruiting process. Everyone was very thoughtful int heir questions and it never felt like I was repeating myself

Question 1
If you could be any type of food, what would you be?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Okta (Vancouver, BC) in Sept 2021
Interview
4 rounds. Met with immediate hiring manager and 2 other leaders + 1 team member. Each interview was about 45 minutes long. Interviews were a mix of technical process based and behavioural Qs.
Applied through okta website. Associate recruiter reached out in couple of days, emails exchanged. First interview scheduled, I decided to work from home to attend this phone screen. Most of the reviews I read was positive, I was looking forward to this interview. I didn’t get the call from hiring manager at scheduled time, no email on last minute cancellation nor request for reschedule. Couple of days later I followed up, I got a response back from associate recruiter, that this position is on hold and she will connect with me in future if it reopens.
Unacceptable response for not calling at the scheduled time. Being recruiter myself, Good candidate experience is what I would be trying to provide. Positions open and close, but we are working with limited pool of talent. Be courteous and always close the loop even if he/she is not moving forward in the recruiting process. We could cross path again - so leaving on "a good note" might make things easier for future.
