I applied for OkCredit in January, 2021. A TA got in touch with me within 2 days and scheduled 2 interviews. The 1st round went well with a simple algorithmic question. The technical discussions preceding the question were interesting and served as a great ice breaker. I guess the 2nd interview round (also algorithmic) was the deal breaker. The interviewer wanted to know why I wanted to change my company. A simple answer wouldn't suffice and the person kept prodding by twisting the questions and my answers. This made me a tad uncomfortable to be honest. Th interviewer ended up coming across as rude. These personal questions have no room in a technical round. And even if it is meant to be an ice breaker, the topic can be broached more respectfully.

The 2nd interview started off fine with a brief introduction, but the back-to-back questions about why I wanted to change my job were a bit annoying. I politely stated that I felt like my career growth was stagnating and change of environment and domain would probably help, but the interviewer wasn't satisfied with my answer, and went on to state that boredom and stagnation can happen anywhere. Not that I disagree, but I feel these ideas border on philosophy and should have no room in a professional tech interview. Even if such questions are to be raised, they can be done more respectfully. Interviewers should try to make candidates comfortable.
