      I applied online. I interviewed at Octopus Deploy in Sept 2025

      1. Recruiter screen over video call 2. Take home assessment in the form of a small piece of functionality to be created in C# with accompanying tests and readme. The design was to be discussed with the team in the next stage. They say formally that the take home assessment should be completed in "an evening coding session", but the recruiter indicated that spending less than a week on it would likely result in a rejection. It was not a complex task but there is huge room for interpretation. The feedback I received consisted almost entirely of inane nitpicks, and also made it clear that the reviewer did not bother to read any of my discussion of assumptions and tradeoffs. Par for the course in terms of take homes really, don't go into it expecting anything special.
