      Photographer Interview

      12 Jan 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Orlando, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Obeo (Orlando, FL) in Aug 2017

      Interview

This company has a fairly easy process for coming on board. I applied online. A few days later I received an email that asked me to submit a map of the area that I was willing to cover, a photo from the camera that I was planning on shooting with, and a signed confidentiality agreement, which is not a contract. It basically states that the site and information is proprietary and that I will keep it confidential. After I sent in the paperwork, they reviewed my camera equipment and made sure that it met their qualifications and then they sent me the information for the training. They have two training sessions, but you have to attend both. That was harder for me as I have a daytime job so I could not attend the training sessions right away. After I was able to go to both sessions, one was for the system and one was for the way they want you to photograph, then I had to submit a small test shoot. The trainer said that it was to make sure that I understood the system and that I met their standards for shooting. It was 5 images total that I had to upload. The longest part was waiting for them to get back to me after the test shoot. That took about 2 weeks before I heard from anyone. Other than that, I was brought onto the team and I have not had any issues with the company.

      Photographer Interview

      23 Jan 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Miami, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Obeo (Miami, FL) in Aug 2018

      Interview

The interview process was very easy. I applied online at the Obeo site for their photographers. They reached out to me to verify equipment and then I received an email about training call times. The primary call is not a one on one. It is a 45 minute overview of how the company functions, how photographers interact with the company, and it answers all of the general questions. Then they send a link to upload your test shoot. After the test shoot is complete they send paperwork to set up pay, the background check, and then you are good to go. The test shoot was really easy - they are just checking to make sure that we know how to compose an image appropriately and that we have a concept of how to shoot within their standards. Pay was discussed on the training call, but pay does vary based on the packages that are ordered. Pay is visible on every order that I receive and I can choose to move forward with the rate or decline it and send it to another photographer. Very easy and flexible.

      Photographer Interview

      8 Aug 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Obeo

      Interview

The initial contact via e-mail and phone was very easy. It was the multiple in-person meet ups that were problematic. Nice enough people, but getting any real answers out of any meeting was difficult. So much left unanswered. Meetings were constantly rescheduled or canceled. Very vague about actual compensation. Didn't seem to really want to know my questions or thoughts.
