A colossal waste of time, quite unprofessional hiring process.
Four calls, each about 90 minutes; every call has up to two interviewers. You speak with different levels: HR manager, a senior software development manager, an associate director, director of product development, director of software development, director of architecture. Because of COVID, this happened entirely online; then you are normally invited in the office for f2f with management.
The whole process took a couple of months (this is already a bit weird); but it continued somehow smoothly until the end, with interviewers clearly expressing interest at the end of the interview, in a couple of calls even going past the time limit to keep interviewing me...
Then after a few days from the last interview, a mail from HR formally confirms interest, but also asks to be patient as the team has to make up its mind about which role suits me best (there were 2 available).
Then silence for a month, after which HR regrets to inform that they did not manage to agree on the role. Apologies are issues for the situation, but no clear explanation is given; funnily enough, HR asks if I would be interested to have my profile screened again for other roles in the future.
