Explain the CPU scheduling algorithms and the important parameters to decide the most efficient algorithms
I applied through university. I interviewed at Nutanix (Chennai) in Sept 2025
Interview
.There were three rounds, Two technical and another HR/Manager round. They asked questions about Computer Networks and Operating Systems. Also Linux, virtualization and containers. The first technical round focused on network protocols, routing, subnetting, and firewall concepts. For Operating Systems, questions covered process management, memory allocation, deadlocks, and system calls. The second technical round delved deeper into Linux commands, shell scripting, system administration tasks, and troubleshooting common issues. Virtualization questions included hypervisor types and their differences, while container questions centered around Docker architecture, image creation, networking, and basic Kubernetes concepts. The HR/Manager round explored behavioral aspects, past project experiences, problem-solving approaches, and career aspirations.

They asked questions about Computer Networks and Operating Systems. Also Linux, virtualization and containers.
They wanted in-depth theory knowledge on virtualization concepts, Linux Commands, Operating System Concepts, Networking Concepts, etc. since their role also aligned with that. SREs will be in constant touch with clients troubleshooting issues, which require these theory fundamentals right.
