I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Ntwist in Sept 2023
Interview
I want to share my experience regarding the interview process at Ntwist, specifically about the task evaluation phase, to give other candidates a sense of what they might expect.
Three months ago, I completed an interview task for Ntwist, which involved creating specific web pages using designated technologies. I submitted my work, confident in its quality and eager for feedback.
However, since my submission, there has been a prolonged delay in receiving any evaluation or response. My attempts to follow up have been met with repetitive and non-committal replies. Despite sending 10 emails to inquire about my application status, I have received 8 responses, all indicating that my task was still under review. To this day, no concrete feedback or decision has been communicated to me.
This experience has been quite taxing, primarily due to the lack of clear communication and closure. For candidates applying to Ntwist, be prepared for potential delays in the interview process and in receiving feedback. While the task itself was a good experience, the follow-up process has been less so.
In sharing this, my hope is to provide insight into the interview process at Ntwist and to underscore the importance of timely feedback in any recruitment journey. For anyone investing their time and effort in such tasks, receiving prompt and constructive feedback is not only beneficial for personal growth but also a sign of respect from the company.
Group interview, they emphasized communication and teamwork. They asked us to brainstorm how to implement a ML model given some data they provided. The interviewer was amicable. It was sometimes tough to speak up in a group interview though.

I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Ntwist (Edmonton, AB) in Dec 2019
Interview
After contacting the CEO of the company, I had an initial in-person interview with him. He asked me if I am available the next day. I said yes; however, it was very difficult for me. I was traveling and had lots of stuff to complete, including my current job's tasks. On the evening of that day, they asked me to be at their company the day after at 8:30 am.
For the main interview, they arranged a working session. There were other candidates too in a room. It was awkward. We were trying not to show our stress, but once one of their employees came in and told us: I know you are very stressed so I will leave you alone. That was the only thing we needed to hear to overcome our stress! The chair of the session was a good person, trying to make it as a teamwork, but since the other candidates were stressed and were competing, it was not easy to collaborate and expect a teamwork.
It took 5 hours to work on a given task. It was professional of them that they paid us for the working session.
I followed up with the company two times and the second time, they just told me we are evaluating other candidates as well. Never heard back after that.
We can get a good insight from the working condition in a company through the way that they interview the candidates.
