A couple of informal interviews. A site visit. Then Nonacus gave me more details about their business situation right before I was about to start. At that point I withdrew my acceptance of their offer of employment. It felt that they had withheld information to lower my salary expectations. I got the sense that they wanted to take me on as a two in one bioinformatician and iso consultant to save themselves some cash. The iso would be critical for their business model, but that is the part they were not open about. Point to note: most of these companies are going through UKAS compliance at this time. It is OK for companies to have challenges, but lack of openness is a problem.
