I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ngo Funding Group (Elk Grove, CA) in Oct 2016
Interview
I was interviewed twice over the phone and once in person. When I asked if more questions will be asked in the in-person meeting, I was told "No". However, once the meeting began, I was surprised by being asked once again "Tell me something about yourself". I thought these questions were completed, so I was caught off-guard repeating similar answers as before. Much of the hiring details were very vague, despite my persistence to share more info with me so I may make my acceptance decision accordingly.
In the end, after the last meeting I thought it over and sent a "Thank you" email, declining the job offer due to the low pay and that my monthly salary had to be contingent on the funds I solicit and receive from the donors. Furthermore, the payments have to clear in the bank before I get paid, with no benefits of any type was offered. To my dismay, I received no reply whatsoever, not even to thank me for the time invested for three weeks with them. I have never heard of such job offer before when it comes to business development and fundraising.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked if I belonged to any specific group/church/organizations. I did not know what was meant by that and where these questions were headed as I was asked the same question several times in different ways. I guess they wanted to know my affiliation with or against a certain group. In the end, I inferred they were trying to see if I have any prejudice against a specific race. Of course I was not, but some of these questions were rather not so legal, and out of the norm, to say the least.
