Firstly, I have to give it to the recruiter who was candid with me and set expectations throughout the experience and made sure if I was still confident to proceed during the process. I was informed that the hiring manager had already went through so many rounds with other candidates and doesn't seem to have a good grasp of what he's looking for—whether it's someone with media experience or just a good seller, none of them being synchronous. I moved to the round of speaking with him and I did not leave with the best impression of him. He was pressing me about my current role (that was relevant), almost interrogation style. At one point, he ranted about one of his old employees that he had fired and that was enough for me to draw my conclusion about him. Had I moved on to the next round, a presentation would've been required.
