I applied online. I interviewed at Newell Brands in Apr 2025
Interview
It was a very straightforward process. Started with a call with HR. During this call, HR asked me my salary expectations, then told me that the position offers less and I might be overqualified. It was only 5k less than I stated, so I reiterated that I feel I'm qualified for this role and didn't apply to a more senior role for a reason. And that I am happy to accept that salary if the role is a good team and culture fit. I was then moved to the next round with the hiring manager. This was a very casual conversation. The final round was with a PM3 who works with this role. This was a more standard behavioral interview, but was done via phone call, which was strange.
After a few days, I received feedback that I am "overqualified" and no other feedback.

Question 1
Tell me about a project you led from conception to execution
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Newell Brands
Interview
Went to all rounds and got many compliments from all interviewers, and yet got ghosted for the position and there was never even an automated rejection email sent out when posting was taken down. I will say that some interviewers were clearly unprepared as some of them used to exact same questions that undoubtedly HR gave to them.

Question 1
Tell me about a time that you had to break bad news.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Newell Brands (Huntersville, NC) in Aug 2017
Interview
The interview was terrible and poorly planned. They made about 4 changes to the scheduled time, including one the morning of the interview. I was supposed to meet with 9 interviewers, but only met with 5. I was excused an hour and a half early because the rest of the interviewers did not show up to the office that day. The hiring manager was not professional at all throughout the whole process and I never received any feedback from Newell Brands after reaching out 3 times after the interview. I never spoke with HR throughout the process and feel like the hiring manager had gone rogue looking for people and bringing them in. Overall not a positive or professional experience.
