Applied for Mineral Processing EIT. After applying, I received a call from the recruiter in Australia, had a chat to confirm my interest in the position and agreed to continue the communication via e-mail to schedule a videoconference interview. During the interview, the recruiter mostly led the conversation, while the plant supervisors had only a few questions. Several behavioural questions were asked. What threw me off was the "thinking outside the box" question; I had no idea these types of questions were still being asked around. It's so old, and for us engineers thinking outside the box is routine. I wasn't well prepared for the behavioural questions. I wasn't expecting an offer after the interview and didn't follow up with the recruiter, but it would have been nice to hear from the recruiter to know that I wasn't selected.
