I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Newcastle College (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in Jul 2023
Interview
It was just general teaching questions with 3 women! They were polite enough but I just felt they already had a candidate for the job! This is because they were instantly dismissive as soon as I got in the room! I didn’t get the job but they told me 6 weeks later which was poor!

Interview
The process, initially informal and welcoming for successful interviews, later proved to be unfair. Unsuccessful candidates were later offered positions, even though it was widely known they were not suitable. Some job postings were deceptive, with fixed-term contracts used as motivation. Interviews were often just for show, as predetermined candidates were already chosen. Roles changed after appointment, and staff were shifted based on their compatibility, sometimes leading to less-suited individuals handling challenging courses that more favourable staff found 'beneath them'. Interviews while in a role were often a formality, with promises of future opportunities for those who didn't fit the mould.
