I was very turned off by my interview with New Radiance. It was a virtual interview and was scheduled many days in advance. There were 2 people who interviewed me via zoom, one was a provider and the other was apart of the administrative team. The interview didn’t start until over 2 hours past our scheduled time. I wasn’t notified of the delay until after our scheduled time when I contacted them letting them know I was waiting for the zoom invitation email. Both staff members were noticeably stressed from the busy day. As an RN, I am very understanding that delays and busy, more stressful days are apart of working in healthcare and I expressed my understanding to them. During my interview the administrative staff member did not have her camera on. This felt awkward and unprofessional since I was being watched and spoken to while viewing a blank screen. The administrative staff member proceeded to ask me clinical questions using terms I had never heard used before as an RN with 10 years of experience, including perioperative experience which is what I applied for. She became annoyed when I kindly and non judgmentally asked for clarification, even though she using terms and questioning an experienced RN without the knowledge basis to ask appropriate questions. She made it seem as though I was the one who lacked knowledge of topics she was referring to. The provider was kind enough to briefly interject and support my need for clarification as no one can answer questions that don’t make sense.
