I spoke with the hiring manager, took a take-home test and was quickly brought into the office to speak with several people I would potentially be supervising. The conversations were insightful and the individuals engaging. I enjoyed the discussions and got uniformly positive feedback from the people in the group interview. An hour later, I received a curt email informing me that I "wasn't a fit" and wouldn't be considered. I asked if there was anything I could have done to improve my chances and received a dismissive response that didn't answer the question. The position I interviewed for remained unfilled for more than a year. I'm not sure what NerdWallet was looking for, and maybe that was part of the problem.
