I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union (Pensacola, FL) in Jun 2014
Interview
I applied for a call center job online at their company website, then received a call from an HR rep a couple days later to take an assessment test. I completed and passed the test which consisted of basic math concerning banking types of situations along with choosing the best and worst possible answers to give to customers for hypothetical calls which you may encounter while on the job. I passed the test and was then scheduled for an interview. I was interviewed by one of the call center supervisors which consisted of about four, fairly easy questions along with the supervisor giving information about the company, then you get a chance to ask questions as well. I got the impression it went well. From what I was told, there is an email sent within a couple days if you are turned down. If you are being considered for employment, they run a background and credit check and if you pass their standards then you may be contacted for an offer to be placed in one of their upcoming training classes. The whole process has been a couple weeks. I have not had an offer yet, but no turn down either. It seems like a really good company to work for and the benefits are good.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union
Interview
The hiring process started with two online assessments, followed by a phone screening interview from one of the recruiters (The gap between these two events was almost a month). After completing those, I moved to an in-person interview with a panel of two people. The interviewers asked behavioral questions, taking detailed notes throughout the session. They mentioned that the timeline for a decision might "take too long". However, it has now been over a month since my interview without any further communication. Despite my portal status still showing as 'Interviewing,' I haven't received a call or email update. While the initial stages were well-organized, the lack of follow-through after the in-person stage is kind of worrisome.
It was a group interview with two supervisors and a team lead, mostly interacted with hr dept. hr specialist fumbled entire process including pay and location I was to be working.
