I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union in Jun 2018
Interview
Applied 5 times before getting an interview. I was told applicants are viewed in bundles. If they don’t reach your bundle you’re not considered. After applying you have to take an assessment which is good for 6 months. The second time I applied I received a call from the recruiter who asked a few questions then stated she was sending my application to the Branch Manager. The 5th time I applied on a Friday and received a call on Wednesday. During the call the assistant branch manager let me know I was the first call and went over the position and made sure I was okay with everything. We scheduled an interview for the next day. I interviewed with two employees of the branch. I was super nervous as I am with all interviews. When asked about my current position I was honest that I was no longer in the position and hadn’t updated my resume. One of the interviewers replied with, “Well we didn’t need to know that we wouldn’t have looked into it” which did not help with the nerves. I chose to be honest because if I hadn’t and they did look into it they would’ve looked down on me. During the interview they let me know it may take a while to hear anything back because I was the first interview. She did say if I had not been offered the position the recruiter would reach out to me and provide feedback on the interview. I tried to follow up multiple times after the interview with no reply. 7 weeks later I get the email that the position was offered to another candidate. The next day after receiving the email I visited the branch and spoke with the assistant branch manager for feedback in regards to my interview. She said she couldn’t tell me anything and to contact the recruiter “if” I had her number. Luckily I did. I reached out to the recruiter and talent acquisition team with no response and no reply.

Question 1
Name a situation that you had the authority to do something but did not do it because the person was asking for too much?
The hiring process started with two online assessments, followed by a phone screening interview from one of the recruiters (The gap between these two events was almost a month). After completing those, I moved to an in-person interview with a panel of two people. The interviewers asked behavioral questions, taking detailed notes throughout the session. They mentioned that the timeline for a decision might "take too long". However, it has now been over a month since my interview without any further communication. Despite my portal status still showing as 'Interviewing,' I haven't received a call or email update. While the initial stages were well-organized, the lack of follow-through after the in-person stage is kind of worrisome.
It was a group interview with two supervisors and a team lead, mostly interacted with hr dept. hr specialist fumbled entire process including pay and location I was to be working.
