I applied online. I interviewed at Nas Company (Dubai) in Jun 2024
Interview
I applied for a Graphic Design position and advanced to phase 2, which required a test involving five different designs.
It took me three days to fit the test into my schedule, as I had limited free time and even skipped dinners to complete it. I did my best, but the rejection I received was just an automated message.
This is incredibly disrespectful for several reasons. First, applicants are asked to provide a link to their portfolio, which already showcases our skills and work. If we progressed to phase two, our portfolios were clearly reviewed and deemed satisfactory. Asking us to prove our skills with one post is one thing, but requiring three different tasks, one of which included multiple sub-tasks, is unreasonable. No one would EVER ask a lawyer to take a case for free to prove their ability or a doctor to perform a procedure for free. Our portfolios, which we invest significant time and money into, exist to demonstrate our capabilities. Requesting unpaid trials without even a proper thank you for our time is highly disrespectful and disappointing.
I hope you begin to value creators based on the extensive portfolios they have crafted over months or years, just as you value non-creators. And
I'll be keeping an eye to see if my designs were used or copied without my consent, since a lot of openings were made at the same time and a few days they've opened the process all over again.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Apparently creators don't even get to talk, just put into the test to waste our time.
Simple and to the point. They analyzed the test with me and gave me another shot to improve my designs and follow up with a more in-depth feedback. The person who interviewed me was very professional and kind.
