They called me wanting to interview me, "based on my resume". I called three times over two days... I should say I TRIED returning call to the Chicago office (in Oak Brook, IL) only to get a recorded message every time. A woman from HR finally called me from NY stating the person that was calling me, and whose call I was returning (already) no longer worked there, so she was following up.
I asked for more detail about the "Account Manager" position... was this a sales position, would I be managing others, etc...She said "a little of both". I asked if she could please email me a "job description". She assured me she would, even verifying my email address.
Of course, that was the last I heard from her.
I called her back a week later to follow up, letting her know I never received the job description she was going to send. She recalled everything about our conversation, but could not find any of my paperwork, resume, her notes, etc... she seemed very disorganized.
I asked if I could get her email address so I could simply send a current resumer with ALL of my contact info to make it easier for her to send the job description. She assured me how helpful that would be for her. I sent it within the hour.
Again, it's now 4 days later and I still have not heard back a thing from her, or anyone else ay New York Marketing Firm.
Seems like a pretty shady outfit - do your homework and really read reviews.
You'll see that the "stellar" ones appear too good to be true, and are perhaps to be damage control from corporate... the negative reviews are MUCH more realistic, even from a common sense point of view.
After this much disorganization and perhaps deception, I won't be even entertaining an offer from this less-than-professional company.
