I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NABCA (Gaithersburg, MD) in Aug 2021
Interview
Had three interviews - one with the VP of HR and two with the VP of HR and new incoming President/CEO. Gave up at least 3-4 hours of my time while I was working another job. After the third interview they went silent on me for at least two weeks. I e-mailed the incompetent VP of HR and she said that she had been on vacation (never indicated this to me in the interview) and the President/CEO was on vacation the following week. Two more weeks go by and I still haven't heard from them. No return e-mails or calls. Doesn't seem like a place I would like to work!
I applied online. I interviewed at NABCA (Washington, DC) in Oct 2020
Interview
First, they called me with a 10 minute screening interview. Pretty standard for a lot of companies. They liked what they heard, and I got a Zoom interview with the head of the public policy department and the head of HR the following week.
The interview was fine. They asked basic policy related questions, and I thought I asked them pretty good questions as well. We left the interview off on a good note, and they said they would let me know by the end of the following week.
I emailed them a thank you follow up email to no response. 2 weeks later, I emailed them another time asking where they were at in the process, no response. I called them and left a message a week later, no response.
They ghosted me, and it definitely feeds into the narrative on the other reviews of how disorganized and unprofessional they are as an organization. This organization has been around for DECADES, you would think they would have some respect and courtesy to their applicants, especially in these economic times.
I wouldn't hold your breath in applying, there are hundreds of jobs out there that won't deliberately waste your time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name a time where you had to manage two large projects in a small time frame?
How do you work with other people?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at NABCA (New York, NY) in May 2015
Interview
Described previous projects and articulated my goal: Stable long term employment in exchange for superior industry standard expertise for below par compensation. Ha. Got cheated, of course. As soon as I completed what they wanted, that control freak of a manager harassed me out. Never again. Back to contracting.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General nonsense. There were too afraid to ask anything technical to eliminate the chance of exposing themselves as below par.
