      IOS Software Developer Interview

      4 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I applied online. I interviewed at N26

      Interview

HR call, then given Codility test with 6 tasks. Tests was mostly questions where you answer with text. Passed test. Just few hours later, I got response that "they have proceeded with other candidates". Award-winning interview process, considering that they can verify 6 tasks manually in just a few hours AND reject a candidate. Stay far away.

      Anonymous employee
      Berlin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at N26 (Berlin) in Mar 2019

      Interview

Initial 30 minutes screen interview with an N26 Recruiter. Asked about my professional experience and why I'd like to join the company. 1 hour coding challenge on HackerRank (6 questions + 1 coding task), pretty challenging given the time constraint. 4 days take at home project, where they ask you to build an application given certain requirements. 1 hour and 30 minutes technical interview with the iOS team, discussing the actual implementation of your project. Questions related to the project and to your daily work as a developer. 30 minutes interview with an engineering manager. 5 minutes wrap up call with the N26 recruiter. All the interviews were handled professionally. I had to wait a little for the final decision since all the interviewers had to meet together, other than that it was a very respectful interview process.

      IOS Developer Interview

      5 Dec 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at N26 (Berlin) in Jul 2016

      Interview

Received an email from a recruiter asking to schedule a Skype interview, confirmed date with HR. Interview was short but we connected well and I showed my interest and enthusiasm for Number26 and their product. I even introduced them to Acorns as a potential expansion idea. I was then assigned a challenge to complete which the recruiter said shouldn't take me more than a few hours. As such I didn't try to reinvent the wheel but to focus on design, attention to detail (like creating an app icon and such to go over and beyond). To my disappointment, I received a generic rejection email from HR and subsequent attempts to contact the recruiter for feedback went unanswered. I think this burns a bridge unnecessary and Number26 should take the time to detail what was missing just in case there are future opportunities for collaboration. I feel I would have been a great fit given my interest in finance and technology and my background. I grew up in Berlin and speak fluent German which would have been an additional advantage.
