      Staff IOS Engineer Interview

      29 Aug 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MyFitnessPal in Jul 2025

      Interview

They get excited about you in the beginning and eagerly pitch the company, but when it comes to interviews, they ask the simplest questions on technical interviews and just gather a bunch of your opinions, asking the most vague questions possible, and then make a decision based entirely on this yapping on whether one language or framework is “better” than the other. You’d find that this company is very old and through the years they still have not established a normal hiring process - it’s too many people having to give their opinions on whether they like your face or not I guess. The most infuriating is that they didnt even bother to actually verify the knowledge, because basic ios questions is not something to be asked on the principal level.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Default ios questions + questions on objc, memory management, multithreading, all the default stuff. What advantages / disadvantages swift has over objc? Generic stuff mostly, how you code UI - in storyboards or not etc
