      Software Developer Interview

      23 Mar 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Weston, FL
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at My Vision Express (Weston, FL) in May 2012

      Interview

I saw a job listing online and responded with my resume and cover letter. The owner got back to me a few weeks later and asked me to come in for an interview. The interview started with the owner asking me basic qualification questions, my education, experience, etc. Then he asked me if I was familiar with object oriented programming concepts. He asked me specifically if I knew what Polymorphism was, which I answered correctly... but he had to look it up online to make sure I was correct. Then he had the "Lead Developer" come in and ask me a simple SQL question, "Here's a table A with these columns, here's table B with these columns, how would you join them?" I answered that question correctly. Finally, they had me write a simple program in C#, in which there would be a Person class and a Student Class that inherits from the Person class. I wrote up the program in a couple minutes. They said they would "run a background check and get back to me next week". However, they emailed me with an offer letter later that same day.

      Question 1

None of the questions were challenging, they were all pretty rudimentary.
