      Software Engineer Interview

      6 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Mode Analytics (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Every company should have a recruiter like Megan Hogan. From first contact to last, she was very communicative, transparent, and pleasant to work with. The interview process started with a 30min phone call with Megan. Next, was a technical phone screen with the engineering manager. I was then invited to a half-day on-site where I met with a handful of the team and the CTO. Everyone from the interviewers to the non-interviewers were extremely nice and hospitable. There were no trick questions or curveballs. Megan prepped me well and told me what to expect. Over the course of the next few days, my references were checked and I was made a non-negotiable offer that was in line with the market, my experience, and my target range.

      Software Engineer Interview

      19 Oct 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Mode Analytics in Aug 2021

      Interview

The recruiter reached out to me. My schedule was packed, but I made time to schedule a 30 minute call with her. She apparently didn’t read my resume before requesting the call because after I had spent about 2 minutes speaking about the content of my resume she said I wasn’t qualified and ended the call. Waste of time.

      Software Engineer Interview

      7 Dec 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Mode Analytics (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

It was relatively quick interview. 30 min Phone screen with Hiring manager, and 4 hours of on-site interview. During the onsite interview, they were explaining their challenges with solving some critical issues. They wanted to provide more flexibility to the customers, but this will bring some other challenges. We have discussed possible solutions and I thought the interview went well. Then, the next day, I was informed the decision of not moving forward. Not sure if they interviewed more candidates, but I don't think they filled the position. I don't see anyone with the title I was applying for and they don't hire the position anymore...
