First, I applied online and was denied a few days after applying (resume was clearly never reviewed). Then a recruiter reached out to me asking me about my interest in the same exact role (not realizing I had already applied). She told me to disregard and then setup up a screening. The screening went well and she informed me I would be moved to the 2nd round of interviews. She informed me on a Friday that I would receive an interview schedule by the end of the next. Did not receive a schedule so I followed up the next week to see what was going on. She then informs me the position had been filled. I 100% feel like I was added for a screening just so they could celebrate that they interviewed enough people to follow their own processes. Incredibly unprofessional.
