I rarely leave negative interview reviews, but my recent experience interviewing with Miro was disappointing and unprofessional.
As someone with more than 13 years of Talent Acquisition experience, I understand that unexpected conflicts and scheduling issues can happen. However, I also believe strongly in preserving a positive candidate experience through timely, transparent, and respectful communication.
I was scheduled to meet with the Manager of Business Recruiting, who didn't attend our interview and provided no advance notice. I then reached out to her inquiring on whether this was still a good time to meet and she then emailed me, apologizing as she explained that she had encountered technical issues, and asked me to select from multiple available time slots for exactly a week later. I promptly responded, letting her know I understood and provided my availability for a rescheduled conversation. However, I never received a follow-up, updated invitation, or any further communication regarding the opportunity. From a candidate's perspective, this felt like being ghosted after already experiencing a no-show.
I also couldn't help but notice that the role was reposted during our originally scheduled interview time, while I was still waiting to learn whether the interviewer would be joining the meeting. If there was a change in hiring priorities or a decision not to move forward, a simple update would have been both professional and appreciated.
Candidates invest considerable time researching companies and preparing for interviews. At a minimum, they deserve the same level of professionalism and respect that employers expect from them throughout the hiring process.
Based on this experience, I am no longer interested in pursuing opportunities with Miro. Interview experiences often provide insight into a company's culture and values, and unfortunately, this experience left a lasting negative impression.
