I applied online. I interviewed at Miramax (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2022
Interview
Great until ghosted!
I was able to get a phone screening interview and then an in person interview the following day. Everyone I met there was super nice, informative, and seemed to be real experts!
Not sure what happened from there because I got absolutely ghosted right after this. Whether it was with the recruiter via email and LinkedIn or by my referral thru email and LinkedIn. No call back, no response, no explanation.
I definitely gave them the benefit of the doubt with so much economical movement happening right now, but I also left plenty of avenues for a quick email or IM for “you didn’t get the job”, so it was kind of a hurtful realization after week 5-6 of no response.
I understand we aren’t owed anything by potential employers, but I think it’s fair for the working class to have transparency, or at least responsiveness with their job opportunities.
Seemed like a great place to work, but don’t bank your energy if you’re in the interview process, you could be left hanging for weeks!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly culture fit questions, very traditional Hollywood (in a good way) vibes in the office, expectation of role was clear and from what they said, they are “quick” on role opportunities.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Miramax
Interview
Very straightforward interviews. No trick questions. Met with the hiring manager, my direct manager, and my counterpart. HR handled all follow-up and screenings. Wound-up getting the role, starting a couple weeks later, and enjoying my time there for the most part.
