I applied online. I interviewed at Milwaukee Tool (Milwaukee, WI) in Jun 2026
Interview
Round one - 20 questions on linear algebra, optimization, neural networks.
It was easy for someone how has a background in math or CS. There were some questions on PCA, effect of different activation functions and etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was a classification problem of red and blue balls that they wanted to use a one layer neural network to do it. One question with linear activation function and one with Tanh. The goal is to fine the number of required neurons for each senario.

Interview
There was a technical screening test, then a 30 min interview to check how the thought process in the test. The next round was with a senior manager who asked an open ended probability question and questions related to parameters in cnn and fully connected network

Question 1
Number of parameters in CNN, and showed different plots and asked which one has higher KL divergence error and why.
